Business travel road warriors and families on vacation all know the frustration of airline "fees". Fees abound for baggage, seat preference, itinerary change, even a pillow. They grow more numerous and continuously go up. Apparently U.S. Senators are air travellers too. In response to the rising tide of evidence and outcry, Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) have introduced the Forbidding Airlines from Imposing Ridiculous (FAIR) Fees Act. The measure would attach airline fees to the actual costs they incur to provide services.
