USPS Resumes Mail Service To Cuba

Happenings: Mailinglists.com

In keeping with the easing of diplomatic and trade relations with Cuba, Postmaster General Megan Brennan announced that the United States Postal Service will resume direct mail delivery to Cuba for the first time in 50 years. Thus far, the service will include First Class envelopes and postcards and Priority Mail Flat Rate envelopes and small packages. "Moving letter mail and package volume directly between our countries will improve service for businesses and consumers.", said Brennan. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (Dept. of the Treasury) and the Bureau of Industry and Security (Dept. of Commerce) continue in oversight positions and require compliance measures from mailers to Cuba.
