The Federal Trade Commission is staffing up its Office of Technology Research and Investigation (OTRI). Specifically they are seeking technologists who care about safeguarding consumer rights to privacy and security. This has become particularly important to the FTC since taking on the question of data privacy including privacy, data security, connected cars, smart homes, algorithmic transparency, emerging payment methods, big data, and the Internet of Things.
