The USPS filed a notice of request with the Postal Regulatory Commission to raise rates affecting the direct mail industry by 2% come April 26, 2015. The Standard Mail increase - pegged to changes in the CPI - is in anticipation of the PRC mandated rollback of the 4.3% exigent increase granted in 2013, which is approaching its revenue limit. The impact on standard mailers is obvious at a time when costs are an ongoing concern. Peggy Hudson, DMA's SVP of government affairs was quoted as saying, "...We encourage the Postal Regulatory Commission to remain vigilant and deny this requested increase." Read DMA Response
