Serious Fun With Net Neutrality

Headlines: Data Industry

Anyone who watches John Oliver's comic commentary on HBO (Last Week Tonight), knows what his real agenda is. Simply to take the serious issues of the day and make people REALLY LISTEN by making them funny. (A path Jon Stewart and Bill Maher have taken with great success.) Net Neutrality is in the news practically every day. What is at issue is the question of whether the Comcasts and Verizons can provide a two-tier system of internet speed. One superfast lane for the Netflixes of the world, and one for the rest of us. Unfortunately the details are rather dry. Scintillating tidbits regarding "Section 7-0-whatever of the Telecommunications Act of Sometime in the Previous Millenium" allow the debate to proceed free from engagement of most people. In this YouTube video, Oliver takes the challenge of making Net Neutrality engaging head on. Wake up and smell the lobbying. Watch John Oliver.
