The Open Internet Rule Is Now In Effect

On June 12, the FCC's Open Internet Rule took effect. The mantra, "No Blocking. No Throttling. No Fast Lanes." is now the law of the land. Of course the concept of Net Neutrality has always been a lightning rod for criticism, especially from big broadband ISPs, and there will be rancorous legal challenges to the Rule, but it's on the books. By harnessing Title II of the Communications Act and Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, the Open Internet Rule establishes a legal framework for unbiased access and growth of Internet broadband services.
