Twitter interrupts our daily lives with breaking news. Whether personal or global, each 140 character burst can deliver arresting content. Educators in Germany have harnessed the platform via @9Nov38 to re-create the events leading up to, and following what is known as Kristallnacht, or "Night of Broken Glass", when Nazi mobs defiled and ransacked Jewish homes, businesses and synagogues in the run-up to the Holocaust. Cued to actual days and even times, bulletins are tweeted out making reference to actual events during that time. A similar campaign has been going on chronicling the entire Kennedy presidency, and will culminate via @JFK_1963 with the events of November 22, 1963. Unlike tweets from Tahrir Square or any other live event, accuracy is less an issue and relevance is indisputable.
