The Federal Trade Commission has included a session among its fall seminar series focusing on Smart TV. The purpose will be to learn more about how tracking technologies work, how the data gathered is being used, and to what extent consumers are or should be made aware of all this activity. The bottom line seems to be that technology manufacturers, media outlets and advertisers may now have access to every twitch, click and choice consumers make using smart TVs, and that the data can have an impact on experiences they have on all their devices.
