The Federal Trade Commission is compelling Verizon to obtain consumer consent regarding the telco's use of Unique Identifier Headers, referred to as UIDH, or supercookies. The order and consent decree describes teh result of a two year process. These are attached to emails and cannot be deleted. The data facilitates ad targeting from Verizon and third parties, until now without recipient's consent. This ruling continues ongoing FCC oversight of customer data privacy through transparency.
